About the Ink
Water Based Screen printing
The majority of screen printing companies use plastisol ink because they are simple to use, inexpensive and durable.
Unfortunately, and unbeknownst to the common t-shirt wearer,
plastisol inks contain PVC and phthalates that destroy the environment
and have been associated with many medical issues including cancer,
mental disorders, and infertility. Additionally, the cleaning process
for plastisol inks call for environmentally harmful, petroleum based
chemicals.
( all RokGear ink is 100% water base friendly! )
Water based ink screenprinting contains neither PVC nor phthalates
making them an environmentally friendly choice. Water based ink
ingredients are non-toxic, lead-free and do not contain any heavy
metals. As such, they are safe for use on infant clothing, underwear
and swimsuits.
Unlike plastisols, water based inks contain no ozone-depleting
chemicals such as CFC's and HCFC's, aromatic hydrocarbons or any
volatile solvents. Best of all, instead of dangerous solvents, water
based inks clean up easily and safely with water, once heat set on fabric the ink is permanent for the life of the fabric, remains flexible less likely to crack, dry out or peel than plastisol ink(s).
You will not find our neckties or designs on any department store shelf, we do not wholesale if you purchase a Rokgear design, necktie, t-shirt a print in general, It is directly from our Burbank Studio.
Not that we don't get hundreds of offers from vendors wanting our items, at RokGear customer service is all about the "Customer" and we can't rely on a third party vendor to take care of our customers.
